What is the importance of a personalized scrapbook? Why do people scrapbook?
It is no secret that people love to scrapbook. People will scrapbook to capture their interests and show them off. People also love to scrapbook to make detailed memory pages of different events that happen in their lives and preserve their memories.
I am addicted to scrapbooking. I have scrapbooks for many different important things in my life; however, my most important scrapbook is the one that I am making of my daughter's life. I titled it "Princess Courtney- How you have grown throughout the years".
The cover is her newborn picture that was taken in the hospital on her 2nd day of life and I continuously add pictures and captions and I write paragraphs for her detailing different events that have happened to her.
Every year, I take her to get her picture done with the age she is turning. She is 11 now. That starts each new chapter for the scrapbook. I document in the book each momentous thing that happens to her that year- so it is basically a journey of her life and I journal about her life year by year.
I write memories about different dance recitals, softball competitions etc. I add school pictures for that year, dance pictures, karate pictures softball pictures etc. Whatever her interests and hobbies are get documented for that year.
This scrapbook is my most important as my own parents were never picture takers and I don't hardly have any photos of my own childhood memories and it bothers me. That is why the scrapbook/journal of my own daughter's life is so important to me and I put so much effort into my scrapbooking techniques. One day, I will pass it down to her and she will be able to look back on all her childhood memories and reflect back on her own life.
That is why I scrapbook *to preserve memories*. As my own childhood wasn't the greatest and I don't have alot of memories. I want my daughter to have her memories.
That is the importance to me of having personalized scrapbooks.
