If you want to have an exciting career and work in the medical field, but you aren't interested in becoming a doctor or a nurse, you might want to consider working as a pharmacist. There are many places where you can take pharmaceutical courses and the career is relatively lucrative from a financial standpoint. Plus, you get the benefits of helping other people manage their health and feel better, which is a very rewarding thing for most people to do. Before deciding whether being a pharmacist is really what you want to do, though, you'll need to learn about the courses that are involved, how much work you'll need to do, the cost of all of it, and other factors so you can make a determination as to whether it's really the right course of action based on what you want to do with your life. Relative to the abilities and strengths that you have, you need to consider the qualifications and responsibilities that pharmacists have and see if those things match up. Not everyone who wants to be a pharmacist would do well in that role, but most people can succeed if they truly have an interest in that type of career.
The career opportunities, the courses, the responsibilities, the education, and how much you have to prepare for study can all be very significant concerns when it comes to any educational path, so looking at pharmacy courses involves all of these issues. Wanting to help people in that capacity might not be enough if there are other things that will impede your progress through pharmacy courses. Some people also work as pharmacy assistants. They do not get paid as well, but there is not as much required of them, either. More people apply than actually get in, so just be aware that you may not be accepted to the first school that you apply to. It's possible that you'll have to keep trying until you get into a program.
