This is a hectic world we live in. Everyone is always on the go all the time. Lack of sleep is not uncommon, but sometimes this lack of sleep leads to more serious problems. Insomnia is one of those more serious problems. Insomnia, itself, leads to world of health related problems. Chinese medicine has cures for insomnia that have been around for centuries.
Chinese medicine looks at insomnia from a completely different perspective than we do today. Instead of popping a pill to cure lack of sleep, traditional Chinese medicine believes that to cure insomnia you must first look inward to see the true problem. When the major organs of the body are not what they should be, insomnia is often a result. The Spirit is believed to be inside major organs of the body, and when these organs become misaligned it can cause problems.
Traditional Chinese medical books have many listings of insomnia and what causes it. There are also many different types of insomnia that give variations of why the person is losing sleep. Some of these types are dream-disturbed sleep, difficulty falling asleep, waking up easily, and waking up at the same time each night. One or more major organs in the body is the cause of one of these sleep problems.
There are some symptoms that have come to help Chinese doctors, who practice traditional medicine. These symptoms are from one thing, but point to the reasons why the patient is having insomnia. A few of these are, when the heart and kidney are not lined up correctly the person tends to have lightheadedness, weakness in the lower back, palpitations, and gets flushed easily. Spleen/ heart deficiency in people cause them to be forgetful, have poor concentration, and constant worrying.
Chinese doctors observe the kidneys the most when dealing with insomnia problems. The kidneys are the major organs for observing for sleep problems. The kidneys store energy and when they are no longer capable of storing that energy insomnia occurs. It occurs because the excess energy rises up to the heart, which is the spirit. This greatly disturbs the heart and causes the problems.
A few cures for insomnia in traditional Chinese medicine are acupuncture, herbal therapy, and acupressure. Acupuncture has proven to be a wonderful cure for insomnia. However, for those not comfortable letting someone put needles in your body, herbal therapy is very healing. Some common flavors are chamomile, lavender, lemon balm, and passion flower. Acupressure or a massage is another alternative. The pressure on your body corrects your energies.
Chinese medicine is a natural way of curing insomnia. With the focus on the inner workings of the body and energy flows, it is actually healthier for the person suffering, also. Popping pills to solve anything that ails us has become so common that we forget to be in tune with our bodies. Chinese medicine's natural root is something for everyone to consider.
